Arne Jacobsen and St Catherine’s College
ARNE JACOBSEN AND ST CATHERINE’S COLLEGE OXFORD A Conference at St Catherine’s College, Oxford Saturday 27 August 2022
On Saturday 27 August 2022, St Catherine’s College, Oxford, will be hosting a one-day conference in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the College’s opening. The conference will focus on Arne Jacobsen’s work at St Catherine’s both in its 1960s context and as seen in the present-day from the perspectives both the UK and Denmark.
Central to the day’s talks will be an opportunity to hear from the members of Arne Jacobsen’s studio about their work with the architect and their own roles in the design and construction of the College.
The event will provide an opportunity to see demonstrations of the College’s work to digitise, and make publicly available its collection of Jacobsen’s drawings.
The day will close with a gala dinner in the College Hall and a night’s stay in College. Opportunities to join guided tours of the College buildings and grounds (including parts not normally open to the general public) will be open the following morning, Sunday 28 August 2022.
